THURSDAY - KINDNESS
Today is KINDNESS day.
In our kindness series we concentrate on everyday things we do that are nice or nurturing. So today we are watering our plants. A simple task, but a necessary one. I explain to my 3 yr old the importance of watering our plants regularly - they need the water to survive. Looking after a living things like a plant or a pet helps little ones learn about kindness and responsibility. These things need us to take care of them - our cat, Dixie, needs fresh water and food every day. Our plants need a good watering every week. Our family and friends need love and support, just like we do.
"Tenderness and kindness are not signs of weakness and despair, but manifestations of strength and resolutions." - Kahlil Gibran
We have the perfect little watering can that I bought from Target, but I'm sure they are easy to find - just get something easy for your little one to handle.
We fill it up about half-full to minimize the spillage!
We give the plants a good long drink of water.
Now we need a refill.
And one more drink for this thirsty plant.
Even simple tasks are fun for little kids and important life lessons! Have fun!
